    Two children are dead in a Wednesday house fire in Clovis. Clovis Fire, Rescue and Police personnel were called to 206 Axtell St. at about 9:35 a.m. on report of smoke coming out of the residence.     A water main break just south of the intersection of Grand Avenue and Prince Street caused a closure of southbound Prince Wednesday. Matt Atwood, EPCOR water company Senior Communications Advisor said the leak was “on a four inch water main near the intersection of North Prince Street and Grand Avenue.” Atwood said the leak impacted three businesses for about an hour while repairs were made. “The pipe has since been repaired and services have been restored,” Atwood said. ...

    A Saturday afternoon blaze added more fire damage to an old steel building off Norris Street. Clovis deputy fire chief Faye Craigmile said dispatch got a call at about 1:40 p.m. Saturday with the caller saying "an old metal building is on fire" at Second and Weatherford Streets.     The Clovis Police Department SWAT Team was called out Saturday morning to help the Curry County Sheriff's department in arresting a sex offender on an outstanding warrant. According to a news release from Clovis Police department captain Roman Romero the SWAT team was requested to support sheriff's office personnel at about 3:45 a.m. at a motel at 1616 Mabry Dr. for a possible hostage/barricaded subject.   • Six Fire Departments Called in to Battle Northern Curry Range Fire

    A wind driven range fire about 18 miles directly north of Clovis is apparently under control. Clovis Fire Department battalion chief Chet Chenault described the blaze as large but it is not known at this time how much acreage was involved. Chenault said the location of the fire was near the intersection of SR 209 and CR 29. The firefighting continued as far north as CR 33, a distance of about four miles.
