For the last six years, Central Christian Church and the Ministerial Alliance in Portales distributed food on behalf of the Food Bank of Eastern New Mexico with the help of volunteers.     PORTALES - The Christmas spirit lit up the night Friday, with the participants of the Little Miss Merry Christmas pageant leading the city's parade. Addison Dominguez won the title of Little Miss Merry Christmas after raising a record $6,851.     PORTALES — The Portales City Council on Tuesday appointed a new member to the Lodgers Tax Advisory Board, filling the empty seat left by the departure of Chrisula Webb of Holiday Inn Express. LaToya Padilla of Best Western Plus filled the seat after she was recommended to the position and approved by the council.
