A male cyclist died after being struck by a pickup on N.M. 267 Tuesday night, according to New Mexico State Police. According to an e-mail release from State Police Public Information Officer Lt. Eric F. Garcia, a 2006 Dodge pickup driven by 18-year-old Jesus Davalos of Portales was traveling west when it hit the cyclist around 6:30 p.m. between Mile Markers 4 and 5. PNT staff reports The case of the November stabbing death of Portales resident Marco Bonilla, 25, is scheduled to go before a grand jury this week, District Attorney Matt Chandler said. Bonilla was stabbed multiple times during a fight involving several people. The grand jury is set to convene today and hear evidence dealing with the incident. Battalion Chief Lance Hill said the occupants of the house were home but able to escape and no one was injured.
