During their meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall, Portales City Council is set to discuss a resolution of support for a proposed bill to authorize Eastern New Mexico Water Authority to operate the Ute Water Pipeline Organization. The Portales Dream Center is in the process of being rebuilt after high winds blew the roof off last March. Firefighters said no one was injured Sunday in a fire that gutted a house on Roosevelt Road U Sunday night. Portales Fire Department Lt. Shannon Lee said firefighters believe the blaze started at a stove in the kitchen. Firefighters arrived at 8:20 p.m., and flames had already reached windows and eaves, he said. PNT Staff Reports No one was injured when a fire started early Wednesday morning on the back porch of a house undergoing remodeling. The Portales Fire Department responded to the fire at 1716 S.
