    Portales City Council members voted 6-2 on Tuesday to terminate the contract of City Manager Sarah Austin. Council members went into executive session for about 30 minutes before voting. Veronica Cordova and Eldon Merrick opposed Austin's termination. The other six Council members voted for termination "without cause." Austin and Council members all declined comment.     Eastern New Mexico University's track squads hosted their first home meet since 2019 with the Greyhound Invite on Saturday at Greyhound Stadium. The meet was a triangular, also including Wayland Baptist and Hardin-Simmons, and no team scores were kept.     Clovis resident David Brown was found guilty this week for trafficking substances such as methamphetamines, heroine, fentanyl, and Xanax. Brown, 53, had 10 grams of methamphetamines, black tar heroin, Xanax and fentanyl pills when officers searched his hotel room on January 25, 2023. He was then arrested and taken into custody.
