There are surely enough veterans of the Armed Services in this readership, that the concept of a battalion, or squadron, coin is well known. The logo of the unit, or a symbol of import to that unit, is stamped on this piece of thick metal. One of my favorites, which I actually got while doing a chaplaincy exchange with an Air Force unit, has a cat who looks like Felix featured on it. Pyle, a retired Clovis police captain and the father of former Melrose Mayor Lance Pyle, was chosen by Mayor Tuck Monk from a field of four applicants. Human error was ruled in a November crash involving a Cannon Air Force Base crew and aircraft in Mali. According to information from the Air Force Association, and confirmed by the public affairs office of Air Force Special Operations Command at Hurlburt Field, Fla., an aircrew from Cannon’s 524th Special Operations Squadron failed to refuel its DHC-8/Q200 transport.
