    CLOVIS – The mother of Sunday’s shooting victim in Clovis said her daughter was shot by a man she knew who “walked up to her, yelled at her, and then shot her.” Jessica Gonzalez said her daughter, Esmeralda Gonzalez, 17, was recovering in a Lubbock hospital on Tuesday morning. “They said she’s very lucky to have made it.” Police said Tuesday they are trying to locate the man Esmeralda said shot her.     CLOVIS — A man set to face a murder charge later this month has received an additional charge on allegations he had a weapon at the Curry County Adult Detention Center. Johnny Ray Vigil, 28, has been in the detention center since Nov. 8. Prosecutors believe Vigil fatally shot Jahmail Burge the previous evening.     CLOVIS — Starting Tuesday, K. Barnett and Sons will begin construction work on Wilhite Road from North Thornton Street to Fairway Terrace. The work will require the stretch of Wilhite be closed to traffic, but Prince Street will remain open. The project is part of continued construction of the city’s effluent reuse water pipeline. Troy Shaw, 57, was booked into the Curry County Adult Detention Center Tuesday after a report of a disturbance on the 200 block of Ruth.
