    Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports: • Around 8:30 a.m. Feb. 20 an officer responded to a call in reference to criminal damage in the 3100 block of Mandell Circle. The officer observed one vehicle tagged with orange spray paint and another with spray paint on the driver’s side and on the back.     CMI staff An off-duty Tucumcari police officer charged with breaking and entering and criminal damage to property surrendered Monday to New Mexico State Police in Tucumcari, said State Police Lt. Lance Bateman. Bateman said Pete Vargas, 32, was taken into custody at 1:30 p.m. at the Quay County Magistrate Court.
