    The Employee Compensation Review Committee will recommend today to let the City Commission decide how to adjust city employee compensation. According to the committee’s recommendation, the state of the economy and limited city funds contributed to the decision.     Freedom New Mexico Charges of manufacturing a controlled substance were filed in magistrate court on Wednesday against three subjects arrested in connection with seized meth labs in Portales. Manufacturing charges were filed against Cody Banister, 27, Brandy Rury, 24 and Troy Thompson, 29. “The investigation is still ongoing and there could be additional arrests and charges filed,” Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Deputy Malin Parker said.     Plagued with staffing issues, the Curry County Adult Detention Center is switching to longer but less frequent works shifts at the request of detention center officers. Curry County Manager Lance Pyle said he recently approved a petition request by detention officers to switch from 10 eight-hour shifts in a two-week period to seven 12-hour shifts. A 45-year-old Clovis man called local police Monday after he saw an evening news story that reported painted quarters were connected to an Amarillo homicide, according to a report filed by Clovis police.
