Playing with their backs to the wall much of the way, the Cats hung tough before Mayfield broke though in the final moments for a season-opening 7-0 victory at the Field of Dreams. In the first game, the Lady Cats fell behind early and never recovered, losing to Moriarty 3-0.     Airman Thomas Trower The Cannon slow-pitch softball team competed in the Men’s Military World Tournament in Panama City, Fla. on Aug. 19. The team represented the base by coming out on top and winning the final game of the tournament against Charleston Air Force Base, S.C., 18-9.
