Monday's incident in which a Curry County Sheriff’s deputy discharged his firearm began as a vehicle pursuit and ended in a foot pursuit, Sheriff Mike Reeves said Tuesday. No one was shot in the incident, which ended about 2 a.m. Monday in the 800 block of Rencher Street. Reeves said one person was taken into custody. The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a tornado warning for northeastern Curry County until 7:30 p.m. Sunday. "At 6:39 p.m. ... a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 11 miles north of Ranchvale, or 15 miles north of Clovis, moving northeast at 15 mph," NWS reported.
