CLOVIS — A man was sentenced to 20 years in prison last week for hitting a baby during a domestic incident early last year. Kenneth Pierre, 29, was convicted Thursday of felony child abuse resulting in great bodily harm and misdemeanor battery on a household member, following two days of trial and less than an hour of jury deliberation, according to a press release from the Ninth Judicial District Attorney’s Office. PORTALES — A Portales man was arrested Monday, accused of child molestation. Michael Borden, 38, is charged with second-degree criminal sexual contact with a minor and first-degree criminal sexual penetration of a minor. Borden allegedly inappropriately touched a female child between 9 and 10 years old, according to an arrest affidavit.
