  • Portales man sentenced to 27 years for trafficking

    PORTALES — A Portales man was sentenced Monday to 27 years in prison for habitual drug trafficking, according to a release from the district attorney’s office. Ruben Lozano, 49, was found guilty last November of trafficking methamphetamine, receiving a stolen firearm and possession of heroin. The charges stemmed from a 2018 warrant served on Lozano’s residence.   • City Hall closing to public

    CLOVIS — City Hall in Clovis is closing to the public after an employee displayed symptoms of COVID-19, according to a city news release. "While the employee did not have contact with members of the public, out of caution, City Hall will be closed" beginning Monday until further notice, the release stated.
