Curry County commissioners Tuesday unanimously approved the county's budget for fiscal year 2023, a budget pegged at over $51.8 million. County manager Lance Pyle pointed out to commissioners the FY '23 budget is $3 million less than the budget for FY '22. "We have a balanced budget without having to use cash reserves," Pyle said after the meeting. Work begins Monday on road improvements to CR K from Brady Avenue south to CR 7. K. Barnett and Sons will be handling the state funded project that has a price tag of $1.13 million. The work will include removing old asphalt and putting down new asphalt from Brady to CR 8. CR K from CR 8 south to CR 7 will be widened and paved.
