    OGDEN, Utah — Three years ago, Clovis native Makayla Drake started a new hobby — wakesurfing at Ute Lake. Now she’s a world champion. Makayla left Ogden, Utah, on Saturday with two trophies, $250 and some bragging rights after winning first place in the amateur women’s surf category during the World Wake Surfing Championship held last weekend.     CLOVIS — The Curry County Commission will hold a special meeting on Friday to vote on imposing the 2018 property tax rates. Curry County Assessor Candace Morrison told The News on Wednesday that for the most part, the tax rates remained flat compared to the previous year, with an overall increase less than 1 percent, and some areas actually saw a slight decrease in rates.
