CLOVIS — A five-hour standoff with Clovis police ended about 9 p.m. Wednesday with one arrest but no injuries. PORTALES — Eastern New Mexico University is looking beyond the Land of Enchantment in an attempt to boost enrollment. The ENMU Board of Regents last week approved a proposal from University President J.S. Elwell that will reduce out-of-state tuition for all students — from 203 percent to 150 percent of in-state tuition — starting in the fall of 2018. CLOVIS — Plains Regional Medical Group will provide free flu shots on Oct. 14 to anyone 18 years or older, the hospital announced Wednesday in a press release. The vaccine will protect against four strains of seasonal flu: Influenza A H3N2- and H1N1-type viruses and two Influenza B-type viruses.
