    PORTALES — The city’s cultural affairs committee and Eastern New Mexico University will collaborate on a celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Jan. 18, but will do so with a prerecorded broadcast due to the pandemic. In a letter to area businesses, Ciommittee Chairman Oscar Robinson asks for cooperation in shooting video Monday through Dec. 22.   • Landfill, reuse, sewer fees to increase

    CLOVIS — The city of Clovis has amended city code to reflect 5% increases in landfill, reuse and sewer fees, which take effect Jan. 1. The changes came following the Clovis City Commission’s Dec. 3 approval of an ordinance to approve those increases as recommended by its revenue review committee. The change will also transition garbage and sewer accounts from quarterly to monthly billing.
