    Former state representative Earlene Roberts died Tuesday at her home in Lovington. She was 77. She served in the Legislature for eight terms (16 years) as representative of District 66, which covered Chaves, Eddy, Lea and Roosevelt counties.     Portales Mayor Sharon King has been diagnosed with myeloma, a cancer of the plasma cells, according to a letter she sent to the Clovis Media Inc. about her recent hospital stay. In the letter, King said she had not been feeling well for about four weeks prior to receiving medical attention locally last week. “After running various tests, my doctor found several abnormalities in my blood work,” King said. “I was sent to Lubbock for further tests.
