GARY HATCH

Services: 3:30 p.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church in Portales.

Mr. Gary Hatch, 54, of Portales, died Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, near Roswell.

He was born on Jan. 11, 1949, in Portales, to Frantelle and Gordon Hatch.

He grew up in Portales and graduated from Portales High School in 1967. He went on to attend classes at both Eastern New Mexico University and the University of New Mexico. He married Alicia Mooney on July 23, 1988. For a number of years he farmed south of Portales. In 1990 he established Enviro-Ag, which he owned and operated until his death. He was active in the local scouting program and was a Scout Leader for Troop No. 18. Family members said he did many things behind the scenes through the years to help children have the things he felt were important for their development. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Family members said he enjoyed camping and fishing.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Robbie Pippin; and his mother.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Garrett Hatch of Portales; his father; and a brother, James Hatch of Albuquerque.

The Rev. Harry Riser will officiate the services. Burial will be at Portales Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chet Wyant, Greg Gossett, Johnny Burke, Tom “Wolfman” Summers, Morris Foster and Randy Carter.

Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Boy Scout Troop No. 18.

Arrangements are by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales.
