Ed Sims, 82, of Muleshoe, died April 30, 2004.
He was born on April 18, 1922, in Quitaque, Texas, to Samuel E. and Millie Lee Sims.
He married Mary M. Cameron on July 7, 1949, in Las Vegas, Nev. He and his family moved to the Needmore community in 1929. He was a 1940 graduate of Sudan High School in Sudan, Texas. He was a U.S. Naval veteran serving in World War II. In 1948 he moved to Bakersfield, Calif., where he owned the Razorback Oil and Tool Company. Family members said he enjoyed working with troubled young people. He taught bible class in the Convalescent H. Street Nursing Home in Bakersfield. He moved to Muleshoe in 1993. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Doris Harris.
Survivors include his wife; a sister, Mildred Tatum of Hot Springs, Ark.; a brother, Charlie Sims of Amarillo; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The Rev. Jack Stone will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Sudan Cemetery in Sudan.
