Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
A Clovis Pizza Hut is delivering itself to a new location.
John Rink, general manager of Clovis’ Pizza Huts, said moving one restaurant from 1301 Mabry Drive to the 1200 block of West 21st Street is part of an ongoing process of remodeling and upgrading all local Pizza Huts.
Bravo Enterprises, the Plainview, Texas, company that owns eight of the pizza restaurants in west Texas and eastern New Mexico, plans to close its Mabry Drive location and open the new 21st Street location within the next four weeks, Rink said.
“We wanted to be a little more centrally located to serve the west side of Clovis. This location will also deliver to the (Air Force) base,” Rink said.
“We’re putting in all new equipment and adding a new, convenient, carry out window, which our Mabry Drive location didn’t have,” he said.
Rink said the company plans to retain all the employees currently working at the Mabry Drive restaurant and will add between six and eight new employees.
Rebecca Corral, a member of the management team at the Mabry Drive Pizza Hut, said the staff is looking forward to the move.
“We’re all very excited. It’s a brand new store, at a new location. And besides, it’s always good to smell fresh paint.”
Greg Blankenship, Bravo Enterprises’ owner, owns Pizza Huts in Plainview; Slaton, Texas; Littlefield, Texas; Levelland, Texas; Muleshoe; Portales and Clovis.
