Cleo Ordie Dane Stanton, 81, of Texico, a homemaker, died Thursday, May 13, 2004, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.
She was born on Nov. 6, 1922, in Bowie, Texas.
Her legacy to all her children and grandchildren were the beautiful crocheted blankets she lovingly created for family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Susie McCalep; her father, Clarence Dane; her stepmother, Ivalene Dane; her husband, Roy Stanton; and three brothers, Melvin, Nolan and Don Dane.
Survivors include a sister, Mildred Oneita Henderson of Bloomfield; a brother, Danny Dane of Bakersfield, Calif.; three sons, J.T. Stanton (and wife, Joy) and Joe Stanton (Kay) all of Farwell and Darrell Stanton (Della) of Texico; four daughters, Delores Edwards of Farwell, Marilyn Morris (Floyd) of Plainview, Texas, Lanett Patzt (Gary) of Dumas, Texas, and Deanna Proctor of Dexter; 23 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Jack Ferguson will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Texico Cemetery.
Pallbearers are grandsons, Dell, Tom “Stan,” Scoty, Joel and Roy Edwards, Michael, Jeremy, Steven and Jamie Stanton, Brian Morris and Randy Patzt.
Honorary pallbearers are Craig Chumley, Kevin Akers, Bill Beavers, Robert Smith, Tommy Pareo, Steve Reeves, David Maxson, Raymond Baeza, Tommy Nieto and Ricky Ward.
