Edna Joyce McCullough Bocox Cook, 76, of Clovis, died Sunday, June 27, 2004, in Humble, Texas.
She was born on Dec. 24, 1927, in Portales, to Carnegie and Edna McCullough.
She married Floyd Bocox Jr. and they lived in Clovis for many years. She taught in the Clovis public schools after graduating from Eastern New Mexico University. After Mr. Bocox’s death in August of 1966, she resigned from teaching and operated the family’s furniture store. Family members said she was a giving individual, with a great faith in God and a smile she shared with everyone.
She was preceded in death by her first husband; her parents; a brother, Melvin McCullough; and a step-son, Ronald David Cook.
Survivors include her former husband, Chester Cook of Albuquerque; two daughters, Kaye Shoemake (and husband, John) of Las Vegas, Nev. and Karen Patterson (Charles) of Houston; seven grandchildren, Shauna Shoemake, John Allen Shoemake, and Annette Olsen (Eric), all of Las Vegas, Nev., Michelle Patterson (fiancé, Scott Fisher), Jennifer Donnette (Shed) and Bradford Patterson, all of Houston and Christopher Patterson (Heather) of Littleton, Colo.; six great-grandchildren, Fabian Olsen of Las Vegas, Nev., Rick and Chelsey Donnette of Houston and Victoria, Michael and Noah Patterson, all of Littleton Colo.; a sister, Bonnie Blandford of Mesa, Ariz.; a brother, Morton McCullough of Mesa, Ariz.; and many other relatives.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.
Pallbearers are Charles, Christopher and Bradford Patterson, John Allen Shoemake, Jeff, Rick and Evan Blandford and Cecil Cook.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
