Rodeo

At the 4-H State Finals rodeo in Las Cruces recently Shanna Anthony won two saddles, a hat, a pair of spurs and a breast collar. Samantha Southard won 3 saddles. Congratulations Girls. We understand there were 10 saddles given away to Roosevelt County 4-Hers and five of them came to Elida.

Volleyball

Elida will be playing in the Goddard Tournament there on Saturday. All teams will play Tucumcari here on Monday and Melrose here on Thursday. These will start at 4:30 p.m.

Reminders

The Homemakers’ Club will meet at the Senior Center around 10 a.m. on Thursday.

The commodities will be distributed at the Senior Center Friday at 9 a.m.

Around Town

Our sympathies to the family of Ruth Creighton on their recent loss.

We welcome Kenny and Justine Lance and son to Elida. They live on the Dillard Nuckoles Ranch north of town.

Laura’s brother, Norman Jorden is still in the hospital in Oklahoma.

Bob Evans is not doing any better, but is home.
