HONDO — Junior Jerrod Long scored three touchdowns and threw for another and intercepted four passes Friday night as unbeaten Floyd routed Hondo 48-0 in six-man football.
Long, who incereased his interception total to nine for the season, scored on runs of 13, 45 and 5 yards as the Broncos (4-0) ended the game at halftime on the state’s 45-point lead rule in six-man games.
Bryan Johnson added three touchdown passes — two to Jason Martinez for 25 and 10 yards, in the first quarter, and one to Brad Lee for 10 yards in the second.
Long’sTD pass covered 25 yards to Kyle Kropf in the second quarter. Martinez added three 2-point conversion kicks.
“We’ve just got to keep doing what we’re doing,” Floyd coach Jeff Gillespie said. “We’ve got our biggest game coming up at Logan — I think we’ve got to win that one if we want to get into the playoffs.”
The Broncos are idle until traveling to Logan for a 7 p.m. kickoff on Sept. 30 in their District 3 opener.
