John Waide, 86
John Ed Waide, 86, of Fort Cobb, Okla., died Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at his home.
He was born on May 19, 1918, in Hale County, Texas, to Ed and Ollie P. Gipson Waide.
He married Mary Geraldine Jones on Nov. 30, 1939, in Portales. He attended school in Sunny Side, Texas. They lived in West Texas and New Mexico before moving to Carnegie, Okla., in 1973. Then they moved to Fort Cobb in 1976, where they ran Waide’s Fruit Stand and raised sheep and cattle.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob and Billy Waide; a sister, Cassie Stephens; a granddaughter, Karen Jennet; and his parents.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Kenneth Dean Waide (and wife, Aline) of Clovis; three daughters, Ravenna Foster (Neal) of Midland, Texas, Martha Sue Dehtan (H.G.) of Logan, and Mary E. Waide of Aiken, S.C.; two brothers, tom Waide of Hotchkis, Colo., and Charlie Waide of Halfway, Texas; four sisters, Ida Kellar of Earth, Texas, Mack Davis of Grants, JoNell Laymon of Littlefield, Texas, and Mary Belle Sims of Sanger, Texas; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. (CST) Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Fort Cobb, Okla. The Rev. Charlie Blount, the Rev. Leon Shade, and the Rev. Neal Foster will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Fort Cobb Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Randall Stockton, Sherman Davis, Donnie Martin, James Fuller, Aubrey Cross, and Rowland Edge.
Honorary pallbearers are Stoney, Michael, and Corkey Waide, Franklin, Jonathan, and Daniel Fuller, Wayne Lee, Seth and James Price, and Grider Gossett.
Arrangements are by Fort Cobb-Hackney Funeral Home of Fort Cobb.
Zachary German, 1
Zachary German, 1, of Richmond, Va., died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004.
He was born on July 21, 2003, to Max and Stacy German of Richmond.
Stacy Brewton German was raised in Portales.
He is survived by his parents; his sister, Sydney German of Richmond; paternal grandparents, Sally German and Wilbur Birchler, and Larry German, all of Albuquerque; maternal grandparents, Gary and Dianne Brewton, both of Roswell; paternal great-grandparents, Mabel Walker, Gerald and Marian German, all of Albuquerque; an aunt, Kimberley Tate of Portales; and many other aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services have already been held. Burial was at Westhampton Memorial Park in Richmond.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Histiocytosis Association, 72 E. Holly Ave., Suite 101 Dept. H., Pitman, N.J., 08071, specify HLH Research.
