Narcizo Soto , 64

Narcizo “Chi-cho” Hernandez Soto, 64, of Clovis, died Sunday, Dec. 12, 2004, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.

He was born Nov. 28, 1940, in St. Barbara, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Felix and Simona Hernandez Soto. He married Maria Garcia on Dec. 5, 1974, in Albuquerque. He worked as a janitor and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Clovis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Alfonso and Hector Soto.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Narcizo Soto Jr. of Clovis; two stepsons, Henry Martinez IV of Clovis, and Frank Martinez (and wife, Lisa) of Portales; a stepdaughter, Pauline Martinez of Austin, Texas; two sisters, Esperanza Rodriguez of Bakersfield, Calif., and Mica Soto of Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico; four brothers, Justabo, Jose Alfredo and Felis Soto Jr. all of Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, and Cruz Soto of Villa Ocampos, Durango, Mexico; three grandchildren, Narcizo Soto III, and Alexis and Kora Soto; six stepgrandchildren, Matthew, Daniel, Frank, Venessa, Antonio and Angelo Martinez.

Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis. Deacon Daniel Chavez will officiate the services.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday at Muffley Funeral Home.

Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis.

Beverly Stobb, 41

Beverly Oralene Stobb, 41, of Denton, Texas, died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004.

She was born on April 16, 1963, in Fort Sumner, to Harlin Wayne and Glennas Stobb. She attended school in Portales and graduated in 1981. While attending Portales High School, she won the state championship in shot put and came in second in basketball and volleyball, and won championships in baseball, family members said. She attended East Texas University on a track scholarship. Family members said she loved being outdoors, camping, hunting and riding her four-wheeler.

Survivors include her parents, Harlin Wayne and Linda Stobb of Portales; a brother, Harlin G. Stobb of Portales; two step-brothers, Lary Dockter of Bloomfield and Jim Docker of Beresford, N.D.; a stepsister, Terri Lesley of Clovis; a special friend, Kim Landsman of Denton, Texas; a niece, Torre Stobb of Portales; and a nephew, Travis Stobb of Portales.

Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. (CST) Thursday at Lake Lewisville in Lewisville, Texas. A memorial service will be held at a later date in the University Baptist Church in Portales.
