Mr. Darrell Fulcher, 66, of Clovis, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2004, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
He was born on April 30, 1938, in La Feria, Texas, to Jim R. and Alvis May Fulcher. He graduated from Clovis High School in 1957. He served for six years in the National Guard. He went to work for the Santa Fe Railroad in 1960 and retired in 1996 after 37 years of service. Family members said he enjoyed playing golf, hunting, and fishing, was an avid gardener and he enjoyed his family and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Lynn Fulcher; and a sister, Donleta Tague.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Stagner Fulcher; two daughters, Kimberly Wells (and husband, Wesley) of Mountainair and Valerie Lyon (Willie) of Farmington; four sons, Tommy Fulcher (Robin) of Albuquerque, Russell Morris (Kristin) of Farmington, Michael Morris (Cindy) of Sevierville, Tenn., and Kenneth Morris of Farmington; four brothers, Harrell Fulcher (Sue) of Portales, Jimmy Fulcher (Bea) of Los Fresno, Texas, Foy Fulcher (Mary) of Zapata, Texas, and J. B. Fulcher (Thelma) of Lewiston, Ind.; a sister, Paula Sue Gossett (Thomas) of Portales; and 17 grandchildren.
Larry Haslam will officiate the services.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Baptist Children’s Home in Portales.
