LOVINGTON — The Elida basketball jumped over the .500 mark on Monday with a sweep of the Lovington junior varsity squads.
Elida won the boys game 50-35 while the Lady Tigers came away with a 44-28 victory.
Dylan Radcliff scored 22 points for Elida’s boys, including a pair of first-quarter 3-pointers. His other 16 points all came in the second half.
Tom Sullivan also reached double figures for Elida (6-5) with 10 points. The Tigers do not return to action until the EPAC tournament, schedule for Jan. 4-8 at Texico.
The Elida girls broke away from a 20-20 halftime tie, holding Lovington to just eight points in the final two periods. All but four of the Lady Wildcats’ points came on 3-pointers.
Senior Casey Ford scored 13 points and junior Kodi Armitage 11 for the Lady Tigers (4-3), who play next week in an invitational tournament at Roswell Goddard.
