Mary Gonzales, 90, of Portales, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, at Roosevelt General Hospital in Portales.

She was born on Dec. 8, 1913, in White Oaks, to Urbano and Rosita Carrillo. She was raised in Lincoln. On Oct. 20, 1930, she married J.L. Gonzales, in Hagerman. In 1953, she moved to a farm south of Portales. She attended the Spanish Baptist Mission in Portales. Recently she had been making her home in the Heartland Continuing Care Center in Portales.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Joe Carrillo; a sister, Isabel Murrago; a son, Melcor Gonzales; and her husband, J.L. Gonzales.

Survivors include a son, Daniel Gonzales (and fiancé, Leila) of Denver; two daughters, Virginia Flores (Luis) of Roswell, and Rosella Gonzales of Houston, and her former daughter-in-law, Priscilla Gonzales Rimer of Denver; three grandchildren, Amanda Gonzales, Melcor Gonzales and Louise Flores; seven great-grandchildren, Isaac Bachicha, Anthony Bachicha, Celeste Gonzales, Breanna Sigala, Asia Kelly, Cassidy Gonzales and David Gonzales; three brothers, Urbano Carrillo, Jr. (Maxine), Chris Carrillo (Emma), and Manuel Carrillo all of Roswell; three sisters, Dora Ortega, Mary Vigil and Rosy Torres all of Roswell.

Ernest Jaramillo will officiate the services.

Pallbearers are Isaac Bachicha, Anthony Bachicha, Melcor Gonzales, Clifton Naylor, Rumaldo Sigala and Tony Vecchio.
