Maria De La Luz Torres-Najera, 52, of Hobbs, formerly of Clovis, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004, in Lubbock.

She was born on Dec. 31, 1952 in Durango, Mexico, to Domingo and Martina Torres.

She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Hobbs. Family members said she was a kind, caring and gentle person who was full of energy and life, and very family oriented. She touched the lives of many people, making them laugh, feel good about themselves, and always making them feel loved.

Survivors include her husband, Jesus Ramirez; her children, Juanita Martinez, Salvador, Monica and Emiliano Najera, Jr., Maria Abernathy, and Linda Gutierrez; grandchildren, Andrea, Ethan, Justice, Bailey and Mason Najera, Melissa, Joshua and Kainen Martinez, and Alonso Gutierrez.

Visitation is scheduled from noon until 6 p.m. Thursday, at Duncan-May Funeral Home Chapel in Hobbs.

Rosary is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday at Duncan-May Funeral Home Chapel.

Father Pedro Valdez will officiate the services.

Burial be at Prairie Haven Memorial Park in Hobbs.

Arrangements are by Duncan-May Funeral Home Chapel of Hobbs.
