Christopher Jonathan Rodarte, 24, of Santa Rosa, died Monday, Nov. 8, 2004, near Dilia.
He was born on Sept. 21, 1980, in Santa Rosa, to Joseph Fredrick Rodarte and Barbara Ann Moncayo.
He was raised in Santa Rosa where he attended Santa Rosa High School. He participated in football, basketball, and MESA. He was a cook at Joseph’s Restaurant in Santa Rosa for the past two years. Family members said he loved football and was a 49rs fan, enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing and playing basketball with his children.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Florencio Moncayo; and his maternal grandfather, Fredrick Rodarte; his fiancé, Denise P. Chavez; and a daughter, Jaelynn Mariah Rodarte.
Survivors include a son, Christopher Rodarte; two stepsons, Derrick and Christian Chavez, both of Santa Rosa; his mother of Clovis; his father of Clovis; a brother, Jeffery Rodarte of Clovis; a sister, Amanda Rodarte of Clovis; his paternal grandmother, Julia Flores of Clovis; his maternal grandmother, Jane Moncayo of Santa Rosa; a niece and nephew, Makayla and Isaiah Martinez, both of Clovis; and many other relatives and friends.
A rosary is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Santa Rosa.
Pallbearers are Jason Lopez, Javier and James Rodarte, Eric Gutierrez, Daniel Howe, Mike Lucero, and Joe Manuel Archuleta.
Honorary pallbearers are Edward Romero, Matthew Martinez, Peter Lopez, Tony and Florencio Moncayo, Bobby Chavez, Ben Hern, James Rodarte Sr., and Ralph Archuleta.
He will lie in state from 11 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the home of Karen Moncayo, 151 N. Third St. in Santa Rosa.
Arrangements are by Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa.
