Greg Brown, 48

Mr. Greg Brown, 48, of Portales died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005, at his home.

A lifelong resident of Portales, Brown was born Oct. 23, 1956, to Gordon and Mary Lela “Pete” Brown. He graduated from Portales High School in 1974. While in high school, he started working at Bishop Printing. He remained there until 1986, when he took a civil service job in squadron support at Cannon Air Force Base. He married Sharon Cole on June 12, 1981, in Clovis. He was a member of the Southside Church of Christ.

Family members describe him as a gentle, tender-hearted man who enjoyed playing the guitar, fishing, shooting and going to garage sales.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Logan Brown of Portales; a daughter, Savannah Renee Brown of Eagle Nest; his parents, Gordon and Darlene Brown of Lubbock; two brothers, Benny Bowman of Farwell and Marlin Brown of Clovis; and two sisters, Sandi Bennett of Clovis and Quida Aday of Las Cruces.

He was preceded in death by his mother in 1997.

Services are scheduled for 10 a.m Wednesday at Third and Kilgore Church in Portales. Marlin Poynor and Don Thomas will officiate services.

Burial is at Portales Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Jeffrey Cole, Jimmy Cole, Jim Hagan, Steve Hartley, Gary Cox and Rod Self.

Honorary pallbearers are his friends and church members.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wheeler Mortuary of Portales.

Henry Osmer Hudson , 82

Henry Osmer Hudson, 82, of Clovis, died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005, at his home.

He was born April 5, 1922, to Luther O. and Clara Bostick Hudson in Forrest. He married Marrion Woods on June 9, 1951, in Lubbock. He was a rancher in House. He was a member of Kingswood United Methodist Church and a past member of House Rotary Club. He graduated from New Mexico State University in 1948 with a degree in animal science.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Mark Hudson (and wife, Virginia) of Honolulu, Hawaii; two daughters, Katherine Smothers (Larry) of Severn, Md., and Claire Dutrow (Ralph) of McLean, Va; a brother, Tom Hudson (Doris) of Clovis; nine grandchildren, Nick and Josh Donegan, Courtney Hudson, Stuart and Sara Smothers, William and Amelia Dutrow, Becky Swab-Hudson and Jessica Hudson.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Paul Hudson.

Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005, at Kingswood Methodist Church. The Rev. Brad Reeves will officiate service. Burial will follow at Mission Garden of Memories.

Pallbearers will be Herb Hartle, Tye Curtis, Phil Lyons, Bill Runyan, Max Best and Jimmy Webb.

Honorary Pallbearers include Leo Moon, McDonald’s Coffee Group, Johnson Bible Class, Jack Akin, Wendell Reagan and John Davis.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Kingswood United Methodist Church, 2600 N. Main St., Clovis, N.M. 88101.
