George Wendell Keenan, 90, of Pottsville, Ark., died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005, at his home.

He was born March 8, 1914, in Hale County, Texas, to George Washington and Alice Branson Keenan. His family moved to Curry County when he was 3 months old. He was a 1930 graduate of Clovis High School and married Jane Jones on Sept. 14, 1940, in Tucumcari. He was a cattleman and was the owner/operator of Clovis Feed Yards for 20 years. He moved to Pottsville in 1971. He attended the Mars Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, John Keenan.

Survivors include his wife; a son, George Keenan (and wife, Glenda) of Oxford, Miss.; a daughter, Peggye Cluck (John) of Amarillo; six grandchildren, Amye Brewer of Short Hills, N.J., Hannah Cluck of Atlanta, Karl Keenan Cluck of New York, Matt Keenan of Birmingham, Ala., Johnathan Keenan of Inverness, Scotland, and Annie Keenan of Charleston, S.C.; two great-grandchildren, Jane Katherine Brewer of Short Hills, and Ella Flowers Keenan of Birmingham; and a niece, Penny Taylor of Portland, Ore.

The Rev. Bill Moody will officiate the services.
