Mr. Sonny Lee Black, 34, of Albuquerque, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005, at his home in Albuquerque.

He was born on Sept. 5, 1970, in Stutgart, Germany, to Liddie and Tom Bill Black. He grew up in Deming and in 1989 he graduated from Deming High School. Following graduation he moved to Levelland, Texas, where he worked at United Food Market. After about two years he moved to Las Vegas, Nev., where he was trained as a plumber. In 2002 he moved to Albuquerque to make his home with his parents.

Family members said he enjoyed bowling and bowled in several leagues. He also loved music and playing the guitar.

Survivors include his parents; his grandparents, Wanda and Willie Johnson of Las Cruces and Fawnetta Lee of Portales; and a sister, Jana Black of Albuquerque.

The Rev. Steve Smith will officiate the services.

Burial will be at Portales Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Tommy Hohstadt, Joey Hargrove, Ronnie Blackwell, Lance Hill, David Calhoun and Steven Calhoun.

Arrangements are by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales.
