Stephen Maro Romero, 54, of Clovis, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005, at the University Medical Center in Lubbock.
He was born on June 3, 1950, in Clovis, to Maro Joe Romero and Mary “La La” Romero. He was a cook and worked at Buena Vista Nursing Home. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe and the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Family members said he loved his pets.
He was preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Gabriel Romero.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy Rodriguez of Clovis and Rebecca Romero of Hereford, Texas; two sons, Dathan Romero of Clovis and Shane Romero of Amarillo; five brothers, Nino, Tommy, Damian, and Sammy Romero all of Clovis and David Romero of Friona, Texas; two sisters, Terresa Ancira of Farwell and Sally Ramirez of Clovis; his mother, Mary Romero of Clovis; and six grandchildren.
A rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Father Sotero Sena will officiate the service.
Burial will be at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis.
The family will be at 508 Davis in Clovis.
Pallbearers are D.J. Romero, Fabian Carrera, Jason Romero, Donnie Nunez, Danny Nunez, Issac Romero, Joe Garcia, and Vanhty Rattanavong.
Honorary pallbearers are Daniel Rodriguez Jr, Issac Rodriguez, Johnny Joe Romero, Michael Romero, Gabriel Romero, and Joshua Rodriguez.
Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis.
