Bill and Tonya Heaton of Texico announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Brittney Heaton of Texico to Ryan Lawson, of Coeburn, Va., son of Jeff and Elaine Lawson of Coeburn.
The couple will exchange vows April 2, 2005 at Highland Baptist Church.
The reception will be at the Chaparral Country Club.
The bride-elect is a 2002 graduate of Texico High School.
She is employed at Hawkins Preschool.
The prospective groom is a 2000 graduate of Coeburn High School.
He is employed at Lawson Timber Company.

Elizabeth Baird and Lawrence Johnson, both of Clovis were joined in marriage Jan. 22, 2005 at The Chapel.
The Rev. Stan White performed the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Suzanna and Darrell Nope of Millport, Al. She is the granddaughter of the late Jewell and Harold Rickard of Utah, JoAnn and Clayton Baird of Louisiana, and Jeannine and Darnell A. Nope.
The bridegroom is the son of Lawrence and Karen Johnson of Indiana. He the grandson of James Sparks and ImoJean Hawn of Indiana.
Matron of honor was Danielle Marie Lile.
The bridesmaids were Jayme Conley, Janelle Michel and Annie Clayton.
The bestman was J.W. Smith.
The groomsmen were P.J. Noblett, Reuben Johnson and Daniel Miller.
The ushers were Ryan Nope and Joshua Nope.
The flowergirl was Reana Michel.
The candle lighter was Bobby Cooper.
The couple will reside in Clovis.
The bride is employed at Regis Hairstyles.
The groom is employed at Arts Automotive.

Burford
Joe Burford of Pleasant Hill will celebrate his 85th birthday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. today at the Pleasant Hill Fire Station.
The celebration will be hosted by James Burford, Kathleen Reese, Patricia Pugh and Nancy Reese.
Burford was born Feb. 8, 1920 in Littlefield, Texas. He has one child, and two grandchildren.
The celebration is open to friends and relatives.
The family requests guests not bring gifts.
