What do you think of Portales?
“We’ve had no tsunamis and it has a lot of friendly people.”
What do you visualize your life being like in 10 years?
“I don’t look down the road much. I like to live day to day.”
Tell us about your parents?
“My dad and step-mom live in Mimbres, N.M. Dad is retired and my Stepmom works for USDA. My mother lives in Mertzon, Texas, she works for the Lowe’s Home and improvement store.”
Who is someone you admire in life? Why?
“My aunt, Radna Procter. She has a lot of really nice antiques and she said if I didn’t write her name down as being ‘most admired’ then I would get none.”
What is your greatest hope?
“To see my children grow up and be happy.”
If money were no object, what would you do to make the world a better place?
“I don’t know specifically what I would do, but I would do things to help children. As adults, we make our own decisions. Children don’t have that power, and a lot of times adults put them in bad situations.”
Tell about a scary time in your life.
“When I lost my brother. It’s scary when you lose someone because you don’t know what life will be like without them.”
What is your greatest hope?
“Being happy, not taking things for granted and enjoying what I have.”
When you were a kid, what did you think you’d be doing as an adult?
“I changed every week what I wanted to be growing up but the funniest was when I decided I could sing like Patsy Cline. If you ever heard me sing, you’d know why that was funny.”
If I could do anything, I would…
“I would like to travel the world.”
Tell about a happy time:
“When Mark decided to marry me.”
What is your favorite book?
“I don’t have a favorite book, but when I was a teenager going through a bad time I read a book called ‘To Light a Single Candle.’ It showed me that as bad as you might have it, it could always be worse.”
Tell us about your greatest individual accomplishment?
“Convincing Mark to marry me.”
If you could go on an adventure, what would it entail?
“I like the show ‘The Great Race’ and I think it would be a blast to be a participant.”
What is your favorite smell?
“Vanilla.”
What do you enjoy doing with your free time?
“Reading, baking and playing with my boys.”
What is your favorite song?
“I don’t have a favorite but you just can’t go wrong with George Strait.”

“Mark is a very big-hearted person. He’s great with the kids. He’ll give anyone a chance and I don’t know what I would do if he ever left me. I guess I’d have to go with him.”
