Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:
Sheriff’s deputies responded Tuesday evening west of Texico where a white El Camino was spotted near the train tracks atop of a 15-foot embankment.
The car was apparently driven at high speed to the top of the embankment. The driver was taken into custody and transported to the hospital for mental health evaluations, said Sheriff Roger Hatcher.
“He couldn’t have gone slowly and got up there,” Hatcher said, “he had to be hooking it.”
Deputies said the man was extremely belligerent and wouldn’t give any information about how he got his car up on the tracks. No charges have been pressed against the man.
Investigators from BNSF and wrecker services arrived at the scene shortly after 6 p.m. to evaluate the situation and get the car off the tracks. The incident didn’t cause a major service delay, BNSF officials said.

A detention officer at the Curry County Adult Detention Center found a latex glove Tuesday containing marijuana in one of the detention center bathrooms.
The officer was checking the lobby area and bathrooms for contraband when she noticed a finger portion of a latex glove in one of the trash bins in a bathroom.
She said the contraband was probably placed in the waste bin so an inmate worker or detention officer could pick it up and take it into the detention area.
The police officer placed the glove and marijuana into evidence.
