Lucille Hill, 100, died Saturday, April 16, 2005, at Retirement Ranch in Clovis.

Hill was born April 15, 1905, in Dublin, Texas, to Emma and Samuel W. Irwin. She grew up in Erath County, Texas. Her family moved from Jacksboro, Texas, to Portales in 1927. She made her home with her parents until after their deaths. She married Charles Hill on Dec. 26, 1975. After her husband died in 1980, she lived alone until 1993, when it became necessary for her to enter a nursing facility. She was a member of the Third and Kilgore Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Russell and fred Erwin; two sisters, Nellie Lovorn and Willie Peak.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews, including Melvin Lovorn of Portales; Fred Erwin of Ranger, Texas; Walter Lovorn of Albuquerque and Polly Radcliff of Dallas. She is also survived by a close friend, Robbie Allen of Portales.

Leroy Thomas will officiate services. Arrangements are by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales.
