Carrol Dwayne Hubby, 73, of Clovis, died Tuesday, April 5, 2005, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.

He was born on Aug. 14, 1931, in Clovis, to Lesley Hubby and Naoma Roberts.

He married Patty Jo Mott on Aug. 28, 1949, in Clovis. He owned and operated Hubby's Grocery for 49 years. He retired in 1988. He was a member of Central Christian Church where he was a board member, a Sunday school teacher, and was on the church basketball team. He was a member of the Lions Club and a boy scout leader.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Carrol D. "Buddy" Hubby Jr. (and wife, Wendy) of Clovis; a daughter, Pamela Gayle Hart (Tommy) of Big Sandy, Texas; a sister, Ka'Aun Kingsley (Larry) of Denver; four grandchildren, Shane and Miles Hart, Ali Hubby, and Jarrel Tapper; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. today at Muffley Funeral Home in Clovis.

The Rev. Kenneth Broad will officiate the services.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Christian Church.
