Ina Derrick-Delay, 81

Services: 2 p.m. (CDT) today at Sunset Terrace Memorial Cemetery in Farwell.

Ina V. Derrick-Delay, 81, of Amarillo, died Monday, July 4, 2005, in Amarillo.

She was born April 13, 1924, to Harvey and Lula Bell Vowell Belyeu in Haskell, Texas.

She was a homemaker and member of the Ladies VFW Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Frank Derrick in 1981 and Benjamin Delay in 1997.

Survivors include two sons, Billy Derrick of Portales, and Eddie Derrick of Amarillo; 10 grandchildren, Tonya Vineyard, Sherry Horn, Krystal Johnson, Chellie Gillespie, Rebecca Carassco, Kandal Wethington, Connie Hartman, Cherry Gallegos, Crystal Derrick and Billy Derrick Jr.; 18 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Floyd Belyeu of Roswell.

Burial will be at Sunset Terrace Memorial Cemetery in Farwell.

Sam Kelley will officiate.

Pallbearers are Jared Vineyard, Steve Horn, Steve Gillespie, Trent Johnson and Justin Wethington.

Memorial contributions can be made to a favorite charity.

Linda Hatch, 61

Service: 4 p.m. Saturday at the Portales Women’s Club.

Linda L. Hatch, 61, of Portales, died Saturday, July 2, 2005 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.

She was born Jan. 1, 1944, to Josephine A. and Vernon R. Kitts at Staten Island, N.Y.

She grew up in Portales where she attended school and graduated from Portales High School. She was married to James G. Hatch in Clovis on September 14, 1960 and spent the majority of her life as a homemaker. She worked as a bridal consultant and later owned and operated the Mod-O-Day Shop in Portales for a few years. She also did volunteer work for the 1st grade reading program in the public schools. She was a member of P.E.O., Beta Sigma Phi, and Zeta Tau Alpha. Linda loved crafting, decorating, and painting, activities she continued to enjoy throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ronald R. Kitts.

Survivors include her husband, James G. Hatch of Portales; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Paul B. Hatch (and wife, Janice) of Fayetteville, Ark, Steven G. Hatch (Sharon) of Portales, and David F. Hatch of Denver, Colo.; four grandchildren, Amber, James, Stephanie and Michael Hatch; a brother, Bruce B. Kitts of Albuquerque; a sister and brother-in-law, Marcia M. and Ed Rackley of Kansas City, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather for food and visitation at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Portales Women’s Club.

Lucille M. Hoffarth, 73

Lucille M. Hoffarth, 73, of Clovis, died Saturday, July 2, 2005, at Laurel Plains Healthcare.

She was born Feb. 1, 1932 in Collingsworth County, Texas, to Melvin C. and Martha Campbell Zeck.

She married Francis LeRoy Hoffarth Jr. on May 31, 1952 in Clovis. Lucille worked as a Medical Technologist at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio for 25 years. She was of the Methodist Faith and a member of Beta Sigma Phi.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one sister, Juanita Judd.

Survivors include one son Mark Ray Hoffarth of Clovis and one daughter Julianna Russell of Taos; a sister, Margaret Zeck Netcher of Clovis; a brother, Mansell Zeck of Grand Junction, Colo.; three grandchildren, Acacia Rose Cognata of Atlanta, Shawn Christopher Russell of Nacogdoches, Texas, and Melissa Lee Hoffarth of Rapid City, S.D.

Cremation has taken place.

Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis.

Victor Reeves Jr., 83

Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Methodist Church in Roswell.

Victor J. “Vic” Reeves Jr., 83, of Roswell, died Saturday, July 2, 2005, at his home.

He was born Jan. 30, 1922 to Jeanette (Eller) and Victor J. Reeves in El Paso.

He grew up and was taught on the family ranch at Newman. He graduated from El Paso High School in 1939. He served in the Army from during World War II and attended the University of Minnesota, meeting Rowena Randall. They married Aug. 14, 1944, in Salina, Kan., just before he shipped out to Europe. He returned to Carlsbad after the war, and in 1948 moved to Minnesota where he worked in the post office. In 1950, they moved to Illinois and he attended Oregon Bible College, graduating a minister of the gospel in the Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith. He served as a pastor in Rockford, Ill. In 1959, he became pastor of a church in Dayton, Ohio. After a year he moved to Roswell and worked at the Roswell Post Office until his retirement on Dec. 31, 1982. Following the death of his wife in 1985, he married Gwendolyn MacCallum on Oct. 18, 1986 in Roswell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife, Rowena “Randy” Reeves.

Survivors include his wife, Gwendolyn “Gwen” MacCallum Reeves; his sons, Scott Reeves (and wife, and Debbie) of Portales, Dan Reeves (Linda) of Mesa, Ariz., Doug MacCallum (Beverly) of Omaha, Neb., John MacCallum (Joanne) of Roswell, and Greg MacCallum (Debbie) of Nashua, N.H.; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Marion Anderson Martin of New York; and several nieces and nephews.

Rev. Kim Kinsey will officiate. Burial will be at Memory Lawn Memorial Park in Roswell.

Pallbearers are Jeremy Reeves, Michael Reeves, Colin Reeves, Kevin Reeves, Jason Reeves and Michael MacCallum. Honorary pallbearers are Steve Halverson, Bill Anderson and the Wednesday Noon Prayer Group of Trinity Methodist Church.

Memorial contributions can go to the American Red Cross or the Salvation Army.

Funeral services are under the direction of Ballard Funeral Home in Roswell. Arrangements are by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales.
