Vicente Gallegos, 75, of Clovis, died Monday, July 4, 2005, at Laurel Plains Healthcare in Clovis.

He was born on Jan. 16, 1930, in Clovis, to Estella Rivera and Margarito Gallegos.

He married Stella Saiz of Anton Chico in 1952. He worked for the Senior Volunteer Program at Laurel Plains where he played dominoes and visited with residents. He was a life time member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and a member of the American Legion Post 25. Family members said he loved visiting and spending time with family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Adam Romero; three brothers, Adam, Rosario and Reynaldo; five sisters, Eva Gallegos, Pelajia Martinez, Candida Vasquez, Delia Duran and Josefita Griego.

Survivors include a sister, Erlinda Chavez of Clovis; two sons, Smiley Gallegos (and wife, Dorothy) of Albuquerque, and Raymond (Cindy) Gallegos of Las Vegas, Nev.; nine daughters, Lorraine Lopez (Robert) of Tucson, Ariz., Louisa Gallegos (Keith) of Las Vegas, Nev., Joann Emmett (Bryant) of Valdosta, Ga., Janet Gallegos of Las Vegas, Nev., Debra Gallegos of Clovis, Dolores Gallegos of Clovis, Caroline Gallegos (Arthur) of Clovis, Rosemary Bibbs (Earl) of Clovis, Sarah Reynolds (Greg) of Anadarko, Okla.; 36 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.

A rosary is scheduled 7 p.m. Wednesday, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Clovis.

Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.

Pallbearers are Nick Griego, Victor Chavez, Manuel Gallegos, Richard Gallegos, Larry Saiz and Jimmy Sandoval.

Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.
