Taylor

Kristi Ray Mick of Clovis and Brian Andrew Taylor of Clovis were joined in marriage Aug. 10, 2005.

Judge Vicky Kelly performed the marriage ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Robert and Doy Mick of Clovis.

She is the granddaughter of Ray and Oreda Gauntt of Clovis and Ted and the late Ann Mick of Glassboro, N.J.

The bridegroom is the son of Mary Shirey of Dalzell, Ill. and James A. Taylor of Ladd, Ill.

He is the grandson of Ralph and Liz Taylor of Ladd, Ill., the late Dorothy Taylor and the late Chester and Marion Nosalik of Ladd, Ill.

Tye Roozemond stood up for the bride.

Bridesmaid was Gwin Reid.

Best Man was Phil Taylor, brother of the groom.

Groomsman was Benjamin McCubins.

Usher was Tony Campos.

Flowergirl was Callie Roberts.

Candle lighter was Devin Roberts.

The couple will reside in Spanghdalem, Germany.

The bride is employed as a manager at Applebee’s Restaurant.

The groom is currently enlisted in the United States Air Force and is stationed at Cannon Air Force Base.

A wedding celebration will be held in “The Chapel” at 4 p.m., Oct. 8, 2005.

A reception will follow at the VFW Hall 3280.

Family and friends are welcome to attend.

Eagle

Bernice Ortega and Greg Eagle, both of Clovis, were married Aug. 13, 2005, at Faith Christian Family Church.

Pastor Rick Burke performed the wedding ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Lourdes Sena and the late Endelico Sena of Clovis.

The bridegroom is the son of Glen and Melba Eagle of Clovis.

Matron of honor was June Montoya, daughter of the bride.

Bridesmaids were Barbara Sena, sister of the bride, Inez Gutierrez, Mary Cothen, Dorsia Garcia and Connie Hogan.

Best Man was Jason Pipkin.

Groomsmen were Chip Eagle, brother of the groom, Josh Soulsky, Billy Hernandez, David Gray and Mike Garcia.

Ushers were Mike Linn, David Williamson, C.D. Self and Charles Self.

Flowergirls were Sayira Montoya, granddaughter of the bride, and Sabrina Griest, niece of the groom.

Ringbearer was Samantha Montoya, granddaughter of the bride.

Candlelighters were April Medley, sister of the groom, and Kathy Lucero.

The couple will reside in Clovis.

The bride is employed at the Clovis News Journal.

The bridegroom is employed at ASCO.

Gallegos

Brandy Serrano and Isaac Gallegos, both of Salt Lake City, Utah, were joined in marriage Sept. 4, 2005, at the Sunken Gardens in Clovis.

The bride is the daughter of Mark and Karen Anderson of Clovis.

She is the granddaughter of Bob and Letha Howard of Clovis and Sally Anderson of Farwell.

The bridegroom is the son of Steve and Clorie Gallegos of Porta de Luna.

He is the grandson of Ernesto and Alice Gallegos of Santa Rosa.

The couple will reside in Salt Lake City.

The bride is employed at Associated Regional and University Pathologists.

The groom is employed at UPS.

Anniversaries

Cordova

Ernie and Dina Cordova of Clovis celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on Sept. 13, 2005.

The couple plans to celebrate with a dinner reception after they return from a trip to California.

The couple was married Sept. 13, 1980 in Clovis.

They have three children and one grandchild.

He is a cement finisher at Cordova Enterprises.

She is a housekeeping supervisor at the Senior Citizen Resident Center.

Russ

Oden and Gladys Russ of Monahans, Texas will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 24, 2005 in Monahans, Texas.

The celebration will be hosted by Virginia and John.

The couple was married Sept. 24, 1955 in Clovis.

They have three children, 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

He is a sales representative.

She is a housewife.

The celebration is open to friends and relatives.

Stagner

Morris and Claudette Stagner celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 7, 2005.

The couple was married Aug. 7, 1955 at First Methodist Church in Clovis.

They have two children, Debbie Turner and husband, Randy of Midland, Texas and Kelly Pereira and husband, Matt of Oakley, Calif.; and six grandchildren, Casey, Jenny, Leslie and Abby Turner and Jason and Jared Coll.

Honors

Marin to serve as student ambassador

Anthony Marin of Clovis has been selected to serve as a student ambassador for the College of Education at New Mexico State University.

Marin will assist with recruitment and retention in the College of Education. He also will promote the college through various functions such as freshman orientation and campus tours.

Marin graduated from Eastern New Mexico University in 1996 with a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts. He graduated from NMSU in 1998 with a master’s in higher education administration.

He is currently pursuing a doctorate in higher education administration at NMSU.

Births

Long

Stephen and Fairann Long of Clovis are the parents of a 7-pound 13-ounce girl born Aug. 4, 2005.

Kraven Spence Long was born at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.

Grandparents are Bill and Vicki Bunch of Grady, Stephen J. Long of Ft. Sumner and the late Nina Walraren of Ft. Sumner.

Great-grandparents are Fainene Harper of Grady and the late Jake Harper.

Harden

Dustin and Michelle Harden of Clovis are the parents of a 7-pound, 5-ounce girl born on July 31, 2005 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.

Jaden Alexandria Harden has two sisters, Lisa, age 9, and Madison, age 5.

Grandparents are Richard and Rachel Roy of Clovis and Senator Clint, Jr. and Kathy Harden of Clovis.

Great-grandparents are Sofia and the late Marselo Rivera and Clint, Sr. and the late Doretha Harden.

How to Help

Kayla Cochran

A memorial fund for Kayla Cochran of Clovis has been established at New Mexico Bank and Trust.

Kayla Cochran, 14, died Sept. 5 at Plains Regional Medical Center.

Samuel Kuni

A fund has been established at High Plains Federal Credit Union to help the family of a local youth Samuel Kuni pay medical expenses. Kuni is at Covenant Hospital in Lubbock with a life-threatening illness.

Engagements

Ryan/Bold

Mr. and Mrs. Buddy Ryan of Austin, Texas, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Bevin Ryan, of Austin, Texas to Joshua Bold, of Clovis, son of Ralph and Quanah Bold, of Clovis.

The couple will exchange vows at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 12, 2005 at Faith Christian Family Church in Clovis.

The reception will follow at the Farwell Community Center.

The bride-elect is a 1998 graduate of Westwood High School in Austin, Texas and a 2000 graduate of Texas Bible Institute.

The prospective groom is a 1998 graduate of Clovis High School and is currently attending Rhema Bible College in Tulsa, Okla.

The couple will reside in Tulsa, Okla. where they will serve in the ministry.

The ceremony and reception are open to friends and relatives.

Alan and Selina Roberts of Portales announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Erika Lynell Keim of Portales to Adam Lee Crawford, of Portales, son of Walter and Viki Crawford of Portales.

The couple will exchange vows May 27, 2006 at Central Christian Church. The reception will be at Clubhouse.

The bride-elect is a 2005 graduate of Clovis Community College. She is employed at Curves for Women of Clovis.

The prospective groom is a 2003 graduate of New Mexico Christian Academy. He is employed at Crawford & Sons Services Co.
