Community Involvement: When I was in high school, I did a lot of volunteer work for my church.

Q. What do you think of Portales?

A. “I love living in a small town. Big cities are so impersonal, but everyone here knows each other.”

Q. Tell us about your parents.

A. “My parents are wonderful people who would do anything for anyone.”

Q. How have your children influenced your life.

A. “My daughter was the greatest influence in my life. I didn’t know what my life was missing until my daughter was born.”

Q. Tell us about your spouse

A. “My wife is the love of my life. She is the best mother to my child that I ever could have asked for. I knew as soon as I met her that I wanted to marry her.”

Q. When you were a kid, what did you think you would be doing as an adult?

A. “As far back as I can remember, I wanted to be in the military. I have always wanted to be a part of something important.”

Q. Tell us about your first career.

A. “Right after I graduated high school I joined the United States Navy.”

Q. Tell us about a happy time.

A. “The happiest time in my life is a toss up between my wedding and my daughter’s birth.”

Q. How did you end up in Portales?

A. “My wife is from here and we met when she was going to school and I was stationed in Florida.”

Q. What has kept you in Portales?

A. “I think this is a great place for my daughter to grow up.”

Q. Tell us about your job.

A. “The people that I work with are the greatest group of guys I have ever met. I love my job and I hope to do it for a very long time.”

Q. What is your favorite smell?

A. The ocean.

Q. What do you enjoy doing with your free time?

A. “Playing with my daughter and spending as much time with my wife as possible.”

Q. What is the best gift you have ever received?

A. My daughter.

Q. If you could go on an adventure, what would it entail?

A. “Scuba diving with great white sharks.”

Q. If I could do anything, I would ...

A. “Be more like my father.”

Q. If money were no object, what would you do to make the world a better place?

A. Eliminate world hunger.

Q. What is your favorite book and why?

A. “My favorite book is “Angels and Demons” because it is a well written book with a good story.”

Q. Who is your favorite character in a book, movie or play?

A. The phantom from “Phantom of the Opera.”

Q. What is your greatest hope?

A. “That my daughter grows up to be the best person she can be.”

Q. What advice would you give to high school graduates?

A. “Continue your education.”

A. “He was like a brother to me and we were always together.”

Q. If you could go anywhere in the world for dinner, where would you go and what would you have?

A. “I would go to Italy and eat everything.”

Q. If you could be a super hero, what would your name and powers be?

A. “I would be the weatherman and my superhero powers would be an ability to predict the weather.”

A. “The most nervous time in my life was when my wife told me her water broke.”

Q. If you could redo one moment in life, what would it be? Why?

A. “I wouldn’t redo anything in my life because everything I have done has brought me here.”

Q. What is the one thing you’ve always wanted to do but have been afraid to try?

A. Sky diving

Q. What was one of the kindest things a person ever did for you?

A. “My wife’s parents welcomed me into their family like they had known me forever. They are great people and they made it very easy for me to move here.”

Q. If you were the Mayor of Portales, what would you do to help fight crime?

A. “The Portales Police Department is great at what they do and I think I would just hire more police.”
