ENMU's Kennedy named second-team All-South in baseball

RICHARDSON, Texas — Eastern New Mexico University sophomore third baseman Derrick Kennedy has been named to the All-Lone Star Conference South Division second team in baseball in selections announced this week by the conference office.

The Greyhounds (24-32, 6-14 South) also had two honorable mention picks in senior catcher Brian Green and junior second baseman Mike McDuffie.

Kennedy led ENMU with a .356 batting average. In 52 games, including 48 starts, he scored a team-leading 47 runs with 12 doubles, three triples and two homers and 33 runs batted in.

McDuffie batted .348 with team highs of 18 doubles, nine homers and 43 RBIs and 54 games played. Green, who played in 42 games with 35 starts, hit .364 over the final 34 games and finished with two homers and 23 RBIs.
