Members of Altrusa
International of Clovis met at
Muffley's Backdoor for their
monthly program meeting.
Hostesses for the evening were
Glenda Hileman, Kathy Travis,
and Joanne Winslow. The group
was treated to a fresh vegetable
dinner.
The guest speaker for the
evening was Dr. Stephen Naggs.
He talked about coming to
Clovis and getting ready to set
up his practice in podiatry.
He spoke about several foot conditions
and remedies available.
A short business meeting was
conducted by President Phyllis
Davidson after the program. The
club approved the coloring book
that will be distributed at
Altrusa's annual pumpkin patch
on Oct. 28.
Margaret Blazek reported that
matching funds are available
through Thrivent for the Club's
Ranchitos de Christo project in
Mexico.
The club will serve at Dillard's
during their Christmas sale in
order to raise funds, which will
be matched by Thrivent.
Members agreed to move the
Oct. 9 business meeting up to
Oct. 4 in order to accomodate the
official District Ten visit by
Rhoda Struhs, District Ten president-
elect.
The club authorized a gift of
$300 for a single mom to pay for
books and school supplies.
Eash member brought school
supplies to the meeting which
will be delivered to the orphanage
in San Carlos Mexico in
September.
The next meeting will be a
business meeting at noon
Tuesday.
