Snow delays schools 2 hours

Eastern New Mexico awoke to the season’s first snowfall and temperatures in the teens this morning.

Icy road conditions led most area schools, including Clovis, to delay starting times by two hours, officials said.

Classes at Eastern New Mexico University were set to open at 11 this morning.

Most area roads were open, but officials urged caution.

Forecasters called for light snow this morning, but sunshine in the afternoon with a high temperature around 35. Officials predicted a high near 50 on Friday.
