The Elida boys and girls basketball teams participated in the Anton Invitational basketball tournament Thursday.

The Elida boys (1-1) got their first win of the young season, beating the hosts of the tournament, Anton, Texas 60-52.

“We had great hustle, great defense, and an overall good team effort. We got lots of kids into the game, and lots of our kids scored,” Elida head coach Darrell Chenault said.

The Lady Tigers (2-0) extended their unbeaten mark early in the season, topping Meadow, Texas 29-27.

“We played pretty good for just the second game of the season, but we still have some kinks to work out,” Lady Tigers head coach Dan Howard said.

The Elida boys and girls both host House on Tuesday.
