The Curry County Literacy Council held a Word Worm competition to raise community awareness of the county’s literacy needs as well as services provided by the council.

Twelve volunteer teams participated in the annual word and trivia game event. The teams represented Clovis Community College Center for Student Success, CCC’s marketing department, United Way of Eastern New Mexico, American Red Cross, Altrusa, Clovis-Carver Public Library, McDaniel’s, Clovis Municipal Schools, the city of Clovis, Cannon Air Force Base, Cannon Air Force Base’s dental clinic and the Clovis News Journal.

The Clovis News Journal Write-On team captured first place. CCC’s Centered for Student Success team took second place, and City Slickers from the city of Clovis came in third.
